I have the honour to refer to your despatch

No.432 of 20th November, 1936, and to the telegraphic

correspondence now resting with my telegram No.21 of

February, 1937, and to inform you that the salaries

and time scales suggested in my despatch No.491 of 19th

5/53773/3 August, 1936, have been subjected to further scrutiny

with a view to removal of anomalies.

I now forward in their final form the schedules

of the proposed emoluments for the unified services,

in which I have incorporated the amendments agreed in

the subsequent correspondence. As regards the Audit

+

Service the eventual rearrangement suggested in

paragraph 6 of your despatch No.432 of the 20th November,

1936, has been noted for consideration when the present

Assistant Auditor retires. I have not thought it

necessary in the list of super-scale posts to make

provision at present for the remuneration of the Financial Secretary; but the reorganization consequent

on his appointment will entail in my opinion a diminution in the importance of the Principal Assistant to the
