I have the honour to submit for the

signification of His Majesty's pleasure the

following Ordinance intituled:-

"An Ordinance to make provision for a

temporary percentage levy on the salaries of public

officers in the Hong Kong Goverment Service and to

provide for the exchange rate at which sterling

salaries, when paid in the Colony, are to be

converted".

2. The enclosed report by the Attorney

General explains the objects and reasons of the

Ordinance.
