Dear Caldecott,

Thank you very much for consenting to

come on Wednesday to help with the selection of

the candidates for the vacancy of Senior Inspector

of English Schools in Hong Kong. The Board of

Education have sent us the names of three of

His Majesty's Inspectors of Schools who desire

to be considered for the appointment on the basis

of a three year or five year secondment in the

first place. Each and all of them are said by

the Board of Education to be fully qualified,

and it will be a matter of selecting the one

who is most suitable on personal grounds. We

ought to discuss before we see them (a) whether

a secondment is satisfactory from the Hong Kong

SIR ANDREW CALDECOTT, K.C.M.G., C.B.E.
