With reference to paragraph two of Mr. Hall-

Patch's telegram to you No. 11 of the 5th February, and to

previous correspondence relating to the construction of a

loop line to connect the Canton-Kowloon Railway with the

Canton-Hankow Railway, I have the honour to transmit herewith

a copy of a minute of an interview between kr. Hall-Fatch

and Mr. T.L. Tseng, Vice-Minister of Railways, at Nanking

on the 26th February, 1937, in the course of which Mr. Tseng

stated that the Minister of Railways had decided that the

Whampoa branch line would cross the Canton-Kowloon line

by a level crossing which could be turned into an effective

link with the Canton-Kowloon line at any moment.
