ENCLOSURE NO.2.

1907

GOVERNMENT HOUSE

HONG KONG

31st August, 1937.

24

Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge the

receipt of your letter No.65 of 14th August, 1937, with enclosures on the subject of the development

of Whampoa Port.

2.

No dredging in the waters of this Colony

would be necessary to enable a ship of twenty four

feet draft to proceed to Whampoa by way of Kap

Sing Mun, so that the question of assistance in

this respect does not arise.

3.

The question of collecting light dues

in accordance with section 32 and Table P. of

Ordinance 10 of 1899 could no doubt be amicably

arranged in due course.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient servant,

(SD) N.L.SMITH

Officer Administering the Government.

His Britannic Majesty's Consul-General,

His Britannic Majesty's Consulate General,

CANTON
