Dear Cleverly,
You will remember that you discussed with
Gent the question of the return to the authorities in
Hong Kong of the two presentation trowels brought back
from the Colony by your grandfather,
Mr. G. St. G. Cleverly, and that Gent promised that
the Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong would be consulted.
I now enclose a copy of a letter from Mr. H. L. Smith,
from which you will see that in both cases your offer
is very gladly accepted.
we would propose therefore to have the
trowels packed here and sent in a Colonial office bag
to N. L. Smith. We would also suggest that you should
let us have two letters
(1) to The Right Reverend the Bishop of Hong Kong,
(2) to F. F. Duckworth, Esq., Masonic Hall, Zetland
Street, Hong kong,
and we will send then under cover to the Colonial
0. 3. Cleverly, Esq.
Secretary,
A
