With reference to Sir Andrew Caldecott's
air mail despatch No. 159 of 17th February, 1937,
I have the honour to inform you that the Court
of the University at a meeting held on 26th July,
1937, appointed as Vice-Chancellor Mr. D.J. Sloss
whose candidature had been strongly supported by the Universities Bureau of the British Empire.
2.
The appointment is to be for a term of
five years from the date of his departure from England to take up the post.
