officer is now under consideration by the Devon local authority. Two to four veterinary inspectors(whole-time) are about to be ap- pointed to inspect dairy herds twice a year.

No routine inspection under tuberculosis order of 1925. Inspec- tion made under milk and dairies order. Mr. Medlock has just taken up the appoint- ment chief veterinary officer, Essex, and has not yet formulated his scheme. Up to now county council has only provided for in- spections in two dis- tricts with a view to ascertaining the cost. This came to an end a year ago.

No systematic inspec- tion. Each inspector paid an inclusive fee for all duties under diseases of animals and milk and dairies orders, but no returns were rendered. At present under review with routine inspec- tions proposed. No routine veterinary inspection of dairy cattle carried out.
