Sir,
In connection with my confidential air mail despatch of 8th June, 1937, on the subject of the Report of the University (1937) Committee I have the honour to report that I have been requested to telegraph you, or at least to address you by air mail, urging the deferment of publication in England of the Report
in question.

This request, on behalf of certain members of the University's teaching staff who consider that their personal reputation is impugned in the Report, is inspired by a recent Reuter telegram to the effect that questions on the subject have recently been
asked in Parliament.
3. I gave my opinion that the fact that the Report has already been laid on the table of Legislative Council and reproduced in the local press makes it an easy matter for newspapers in England to publish it if they are so inclined; and secondly that in my opinion
there is no fear of its being printed as a Parliamentary paper (which is what they feared) until at least you
have received the considered views of this Government
