A copy of the Sub-Committee's Education Reports had been circulated

10. Non-African Annual Education Reports. Report on the following Annual Education (A.C.E.C. 14/37):

Trinidad (1935).

Gilbert and Ellice Islands (1935). Malta (1935/36).

Kingdom of Tonga (1935).

Trinidad: MR. MAYHEW said that only the notes on the Trinidad Report were of importance. Considerable progress was being made in this Colony, where the authorities were attempting to carry out the recommendations of 1931/32.

In reply to a question from Sir Donald Cameron, MR. MAYHEW said that there was a good Training College in Trinidad. It was now proposed to move this College out to a rural site, and make it available as a central institute to other islands which could not afford a Training College of their own. The Carnegie Corporation were giving a grant for this purpose.

The Committee adopted the Report of the Sub-Committee.

The meeting then concluded.
