Professor Forster's letter is a deplorable
production: it suggests that he suffers from
'persecution mania'. He talks about bringing an
action for libel against the Committee - on what

grounds is not clear but his own suggestion that
the Committee were actuated by a desire to revenge
themselves on him for withdrawing his account from
the H.K. and Shanghai Bank is so outrageous as to
suggest doubts of his sanity.
Obviously there is little hope of calm
consideration of this question but the proposed
telegram may quieten things down.
