P.F.

With reference to my despatch No.470

of the 19th July, 1937, reporting the grant of

leave prior to retirement to Mr. H. Green, Superintendent, Botanical and Forestry Department,

2.

I have the honour to request that steps may be

taken to recruit a successor as early as possible.

The death of Mr. Twenlow the Acting

Superintendent which was reported in my telegram a143 No. 135 of 3rd August, 1937, has left the

Department without an officer qualified to fill the acting post. It is therefore necessary to

ask for the appointment of a successor to be made before the leave granted to Mr. Green expires,

3.

The usual form giving Particulars of

Office is enclosed, It is considered essential

that the candidate chosen should have had

considerable practical experience either at Kew or in the service of a Colonial botanical, forestry

or agricultural department.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
