of the Traffic Superintendent, who locks the daily takings up in his safe, the previous day's receipts are paid into the Bank with the morning's takings at 2.30 p.m.
Yesterday at noon approximately I was attending to Mr.
Chen See of the Sincere Company in the Money Order Department and was engaged on other Money Order matters in the department till approximately 12.45 p.m.
I was not aware of the absence of the shroff till 2.40
p.m. when enquiries were made by this department in connection
with the delay in forwarding the takings for the day to be
checked prior to payment into the Bank.
I was then informed by the Radio Office that the shroff
did not report back for duty at 2 p.m.
Action was immediately taken to trace the shroff.
The amount of cash handed to the shroff to pay into
the Bank yesterday morning was $2788.62.
absconded with is $3019.68.
