BEDFORD COLLEGE FOR WOMEN

(University of London)

Regent's Park, N. W.1.

18th July 1933.

Miss I. M. Blanchett B.Sc., entered this College in

October 1929 with the object of reading for a degree

in Science. She devoted the first session to

preparation for the Inter B.Sc. examination which she

passed in June 1930, her subjects being Botany, Chemistry,

pure Mathematics and Zoology. She then elected to read

for a General B. Sc. degree in Botany, Chemistry and

Zoology.

She passed the Degree examination in July 1933

and was awarded a pass 3.Sc. Degree.

Miss Blanchett has attended systematic courses of lectures

on the main branches of Chemistry and she has worked through

comprehensive series of practical exercises in each of the

branches of Chemistry. Thereby she has acquired a good

knowledge of the fundamental principles of theoretical

chemistry and a working acquaintance with its practical methods.

Miss Blanchett was a hardworking student, she was very

conscientious in all she did. She has a very pleasant manner

and she was very popular with her fellow students.

Miss Blanchett is qualified to teach Chemistry up to the stage

of the School Leaving Certificate. In my opinion she will

make a conscientious and satisfactory teacher.

James F. Spencer.

M.S., Ph.D., D.Sc., F.I.C.
