3. Allowance, quarters, and

other circumstances, affecting the value of the office.

To teach in any of the Government schools in the Colony she should

be unmarried,

(b) be a graduate,

c) hold an Education Diploma

or have had satisfactory experience in a recognised secondary school.

£330 p.a. for the first 2 years and thereafter from £360 to £560 by 6 annual increments of £15, 1 of £50, and 4 of 15. Promotion beyond this point to the grade of Senior Mistress will be by selection. From the third year of service inclusive a non- pensionable residential allowance of £40 p. a. will be paid during actual residence in the Colony only.

If Government Quarters are provided, the officer will be charged an economic rent as determined by Govern- ment not exceeding 15% of her salary. If no quarters are available, and if the officer rents a separate tenement, she will receive an allowance equiva- lent to the amount by which the rent of a tenement deemed suitable to her status exceeds 15% of her salary.

First class passage B grade will be provided in accordance with Colonial Regulation No.81.

Three years, all of which will be Probationary.

Although it must clearly be under- stood that the Government is and will be under no obligation to provide further employment and that should the officer marry she will be required to resign her appointment forthwith, the office of Assistant Mistress is normally regarded as of a permanent nature, and in the ordinary course of events if the service and conduct of the officer is entirely satisfactory to the Govern- ment, and if she is considered in every way fit, medically and other wise, to continue in office, and if
