Sir,
With reference to Mr. Cowell's letter
53519/3/37 of the 20th August 1937, I am directed to
state that the Colonial Appointments Selection
Committee, at their meeting on the 14th instant, decided
to recommend Miss Elsie Mary Parkes for appointment as
Graduate Assistant Mistress in the Hong Kong Education
Department, with Miss Margaret Eveline King as reserve
candidate.
Miss Parkes is in contributory service. She
would, it is understood, be unable to leave for Hong Kong
before the end of the term at the earliest.
Miss King is not in contributory service and
would be free to leave for Hong Kong as soon as required.
