It has been represented to me that the
Colonial Government might find it
possible to offer some concession in
respect of the Crown Rent payment, or,
alternatively, that if a consolidated
payment of 25 years Crown fent must be
required, the site might then be regarded
as transferred to the Air Ministry not
only in respect of the user, but in
respect also of liberty to dispose of the
site on such terms as can be obtained if
and when no longer required for R.A.F.
purposes, the proceeds of such disposal
being then available to the Air Ministry
for use inacquiring other sites which may
be desired for defence purposes by the
R.A.F.
