The Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong, presents

his compliments to the Under Secretary of State for the

Colonies, London, and with reference to the Governor's

confidential despatch of the 4th June, 1936, addressed

to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, on the subject

of the abolition of the division of the European Sanitary

Inspectorate into Classes I and II and the substitution

therefor of a through time-scale with annual increments,

of which a copy is enclosed, is directed to request that

a telegraphic reply may be sent thereto.
