Balary levy. Figures for first half year do not afford reliable
indication of final position. During second half year
decrease in revenue and increase in expenditure is normally
to be expected and I consider it would be imprudent to sacrifice
any part of savings due to levy.
When modifications already proposed are brought into force in July sacrifice required of officers will be small
compared with first quarter.
