With reference to basay despatch No. 116
(15/5/1986) of the 8th October, 1336, relative to
the Hong ong and Swatow Commercial Bank, I have the
honour to report that the registration certificate
issued to the Company on the 13th June last has this
day been endorsed to the effect that British protection
will not be accorded to the Company in China.
