Liout. J.V. V. dos Romedios was promoted Captain and
appointed to command this unit. Dieut. Lawrence rejoined from
Reserve of Officers. Captain Rodrigues was appointed to the command
of "A" Company and Captain Jarvis promoted to Major, commanding the
Corps Infantry composed of "A" & "B" Companies. Private C. D'Almada
has boon training under R.S.M. Farkinson and will shortly take his
examination for a commission. When commissioned it is proposed to
place him in command of No.11 Flatoon
The Flatoons of "A" Company were brought up to the full
strength required under the Defence Scheme.
at the Corps Rifle Meeting the first three positions in
Oorps Championship and the Officer's Frize and Tile Competition
wore won by the Corps Infantry.
During the year the weather conditions prevailing on the
occasions for shooting at Stonecutters were not generally conducive
to good shooting until the latter part, as is evidenced by the fact
that 9 marksman's badges were gained whilst 41 L.G. badges were
gained under improved weather conditions.
Tho Interport Cup was competed for and won by the
Lortuguese Company, Shanghai Volunteer Corps.
A successful All-day Company Shoot was organized at
Stonecutters and the many trophies were competed for.
The Corps Infantry tied for 1st place with the Mobile
M.Gs. for the Athletic Cup and 1st with the Static M.Gs. for the
Aquatic Cup. The team supplied by the Corps Infantry to represent
the Corps in the Garrison Billiard Tournament won the Cup again.
During the summer special classes were held and intensive
training of N.C.Os and prospective N.3.0s was undertaken and during
the autumn examinations were commenced showing admirable results in
most cases.

Attendances at Farades have been extremely good. 35 N.C.Os
and men have not missed a parade out of a total of 25 parades.
