Training for the season under review has necessarily boon
largely restricted to Recruits' Classes but opportunities were made
to trained up sufficient mon to act as Nos.1 on all the Guns
allotted to this Unit in the Defence Scheme. This has been achieved
as there are now 22 men with the 1st Class M.G. Badge in the
Company.
Tho standard of Muskotry has not yet reached a
satisfactory level (only 2 men qualified as marksmen) but
opportunities for training and practice were scarce. Rifle training
has had to be subordinated to M.G. training, during the curly part
of the Season in preparation for Camp and the Field Day, and during
the latter part of the Season in preparation for the Combined
Oporations.
The attendance at Parades has consistently been excellent
and a keen spirit pervados the Company.
M.G. Ba. Signal Section.
Officer Commanding - Second Lieutenant A. N. Braude.
TRAINING. During the early part of the training season,
the Section concentrated on instruction necessary for
classification as battalion signallers. The tests which were
conducted by Liout. Holmos of the Royal Corps Signals were extreme-
ly satisfactory with 100% of candidates being successfully
classified. attendance at parades has been satisfactory and
koenness maintained throughout the season.
The Section carried out soveral tactical schemes on the
Island and on one particular Sunday a full parade turned out.
CAMF. Extensive training was carried out at the Annual
Camp and the various manoeuvres pro vel invaluable experience in
field work, apart from the fact that the Section were called upon
to cover far more area than a battalion signals unit would normally
be called upon to do, all branches were exercised, including
mounted signallers.
