Beach Defence.
The Company turned out for Combined Operations
wi lovery available man on parade and were responsible for finding
24 guns, in which task they were assisted by M.G. Troop and
Regulars. It was perhaps unfortunate that more of the Company's
positions were not tested during the Operations.
Personnel. During the first part of the year, Captain H.
Owen-Hughes, Lieut. V.C. Branson, M.C., C.S.M. Terry were away on leave. The Company was commanded by Capt. E.G. Stewart who carried
out his duties with his usual capability. Sergeant A. Urquhart
acted as C.S.M. in which capacity he very fully justified the
confidence placed in him. He was commissioned in the summer and
placed in Jommand of No.2 (M.3.) Company and took with him several
koon and efficient Volunteers to form the nucleus of this new unit.
2nd Lieut. R.M. Wood and 2nd Lieut. L.B. Holmes received
commissions during the summer and show promise of being officient
Flatoon Commanders.
Discipline. Throughout the year this has been good: and though
several members of the Company are still young Volunteers, generally
speaking, they show an adequate appreciation of their duties.
Courses. Lient. V.3. Branson, M.C. and C.S.I., C.E. Terry took
courses at Home in Gas and Stakes Mortar and received excellent
reports.
No. 2 (Scottish) COMI ANY.
Officer Commanding Captain H. R. Forsyth.

relaxed, but a class for ..Os was ostublishel and M.G. Instruction
carried on until September. 1935.
From September 1935, regular parades were resumed and “
course of individual training in Machine Guns followed until
January, 1936.
All ranks, except those specifically exempted, attended
the annual Camp and participated in the Field Training there.
In February 1936 collective training in M.G. work was
attempted, but difficulty was experienced owing to an influx of
new personnel and preparation for Combined Night Operations.
