I have the honour to address you with reference

to an area of land known as the Cantonment, comprising

approximately 60 acres of War Department freehold property

together with certain leasehold lots which have been either

purchased by the War Department from the lessees or resumed

by the Colonial Government for military purposes. These

lots are indicated on the accompanying plan marked Plots A,

B, C, D, E, and F, and Block G and the details of their

acquisition shown on the Registers at the Land Office are

as follows:-

Plot A.

10,500 square feet surrendered

to Crown in 1886 for $40,000.

Plot B.

7,040 square feet purchased by

Secretary of State for War in 1883 from lessee for $20,000.

Plot C.

38,500 square feet purchased by

Colonial Government prior to 1889.

Plot D.

6,660 square feet purchased by

Colonial Government for $34,000.

Plot E.

3,570 square feet purchased by Secretary of State for War.

Present registered owner.
