PORT WORKS.

68.-Kun Tong Refuse Dump, $15,000.-To provide for the handling and covering over with soil in a controlled dump of a large portion of the Colony's refuse.

69.—Kowloon l'ity Pier, $16,000.-To provide for repairs to this pier.

BUILDINGS ORDINANCE,

70.-C'ompensution and Resumptions, $8,000.—This vote covers expenditure incurred in the acquisition of buildings and land necessitated by Town Planning Improvement.

ANTI-MALARIAL WORKS,

71.—Intr-Malarial Works, $10,000.—This vote is for anti-malarial work in Kowloon. It provides for the training of stream courses, and draining of swamps to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.

NEW TERRITORIES.

BUILDINGS.

72.-Ta Ku Ling Police Station Extension, $15,000.—Increased accommoda-

tion is required at this station.

GENERAL WORKS.

73.-Roads, $7,500.—To meet expenditure on road surfacing, kerbing, channelling and the construction of footpaths in areas under develop-

ment.

74.-Drainage, (a) Training Nullah, $2,000.—To be expended in permanent

nullah training.

(b) Miscellaneous, $3,000.—To provide for miscellaneous drainage works made necessary by development. 75.-Miscellaneous, $3,000.-This vote is available for all departments and provides funds for minor works which arise during the year but are considered too small for a separate vote.

76.-Water Works, $3,000.--For general extension to Government mains

and service supplies required by new development.

COMMUNICATIONS.

77.-Tsun Wan Market Road, $7,000.-To provide a short access to the market and to cover the cost of road work surrounding the building. The total cost is estimated at $15,000.

Sub-head 78.-Au Tau-Shek Kong Road, $10,000.-To complete the widening and

improvements to this road.

79.-Ha Ts'uen Road, $22,000.-To provide motor access to Ha Ts'uen and

the surrounding area.

80.-Taipo-Fanling Road, $10,000. To cover the cost of resurfacing sections of the road from Taipo Market towards Fanling Cross roads. Included in the whole work is the widening of this road to 20 ft. Certain resumptions will be necessary and the total cost is estimated at $100,000.

81.-Bridges Strengthening, $50,000.-To permit the strengthening of certain existing bridges on the Castle Peak Road so that they will be better fitted for modern traffic requirements.

MISCELLANEOUS.

82.-Tsun Wan Market Latrine, $7,000.-To provide for a public con-

venience in the vicinity of this market.

WATER WORKS.

83.-Back Lane Service Pipes, $500.-This work was formerly paid for from the Water Works Miscellaneous item 76. It has been decided to make a separate item from the laying of service pipes in back lanes in New Territory Villages.

Buildings ORDINANCE.

84. Compensation and Resumptions, $2,000.-For minor resumptions which become necessary during the year in connection with road, street or other improvements.
