28, GROSVENOR GARDENS, S. W. I.

4th March, 1836.

Dear Mr. Thomas,

This is to confirm the appointment you

very kindly made, through your secretary, to see me on

the morning of Friday, March 13th, at 10.30, with

Mrs. Beatrice Thompson of Hong Kong, who brought a

letter of introduction to me from my friend Sir Thomas

Southorn, the Colonial Secretary there, of which I enclose

a copy, as that will give you information as to the subject

on which she wants to see you.

I am sorry that your engagements do not

enable you to lunch with us that day, but I will bring

Mrs. Thompson along punctually at 10.30.

Yours sincerely,

Rancie

The Rt. Hon. J. H. Thomas, M.P.,

Colonial Office,

Downing Street, S.W.1.
