END
Dear Sirs,
I shall deem it a very great favour if
you will be good enough to make me an advance of £100.
It is probably contrary to the rules governing
pensions to make such advances, but I trust you will
be able to "stretch a point" in my case, as the situation
is serious for me; when I purchased my house ( and 521
acres of land) some time ago, I had not sufficient capital
and had to borrow from the Bank, giving my property as
security.
I now owe the Bank £160. and if the bill
is not met when it becomes due on 7th March next, my
property will be seized by the bank, probably sold by
public auction, and my family and I will be rendered
homeless.
If you, Sirs, can see your way to make the
advance you can make suitable arrangement with regard
to the deductions from my pension until the loan is paid up.
I am, Sirs,
Respectfully yours,
THE CROWN AGENTS FOR THE COLONIES
WH
(Sgd) M.Earner.
