3.

5.

When the relief arrives, the guard will, together with the relief, tour round all magazines before going off duty.

Guards on night duty between 18.00 and 06.00 hours will

6.

be doubled.

7.

Guards on night duty will carry a verey light pistol with three red and three white cartridges. If urgent assistance is required red cartridges will be fired towards the harbour, and the station alarms will also be sounded.

8.

White verey lights can be fired in case of attack to

give light to see the attackers. If the attack is from the

hillside at back of the magazines, verey lights should not be fired towards the hillside for fear of grass or bush fires.

9. Each guard will remain in station on reserve for 4 hours after his tour of duty. When the Sergeant-in-Charge is absent from the station, the senior guard on reserve will keep the

keys of the arms rack and ammunition box.

10. All persons, other than depot staff, are to be searched

before entering or leaving the depot.
