GREEN ISLAND GUNPOWDER DEPOT STANDING ORDERS.
Section I. General.

The Harbour Department Custodian is in complete charge of the depot and is responsible for the safe custody of the stores. The Police are responsible as laid down in the following orders for the safe guarding of the godowns and buildings of the actual depot.

He will arrange the duties of the Police and Special Guards provided by the Police Department, in accordance with Standing Orders and will dispose them in his discretion as he sees fit for the protection of the stores.

All Police and Special Guards stationed on Green Island will obey all lawful orders of the Harbour Department Custodian.

In case of complaint, an order must first be carried out and complaint should later be made to the Divisional Inspector South or Sub-Inspector in charge, Water Police, who will investigate the matter and report to the Divisional Superintendent of Police, Kowloon.

The Harbour Department Custodian will make surprise visits to the Magazines and to the Guards on duty, both by day and by night (at least one visit per week will be between 22.00 hours and 06.00 hours), and will report any guard who is discovered not performing his duties satisfactorily.

If the Harbour Department Custodian wishes to make any permanent change in the duties of Police and Special Guards as laid down in Standing Orders, he will obtain the permission of the Harbour Master before putting the change into effect.

Section II. Duties of the Sergeant-in-charge.
The Sergeant-in-charge will perform six hours patrol daily. He will perform one tour of three hours between 20.00 and 06.00 hours. He will perform three patrols of one hour each at various hours between 06.00 and 20.00 hours.
