Enclo.No.1.
Enclo.No.2.
I have the honour to refer to Sir P. Cunliffe-
Lister's (now Lord Swinton) despatch No.121 of 28th March,
1935, and to inform you that I have appointed, provisionally.
and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Dr. W.B.A. Moore,
O.B.E., to be a member of the Legislative Council during
the temporary absence from the Colony of the Honourable
Dr. A.R. Wellington, C.M.G.
2.
Dr. Wellington is at present absent from the
Colony for the purpose of attending the meeting of the
Advisory Council of the League of Nations Health
Organisation, Eastern Bureau, in Singapore; and it was
considered desirable to appoint Dr. Moore, who has acted
as Director of Medical and Sanitary Services in Dr.
Wellington's absence, in order that the Resolutions on the
death of His late Majesty King George V and the accession
of His Majesty King Edward VIII might be passed in a full
Council.
3.
A copy of the instrument appointing Dr. W.B.A.
Moore is enclosed.
4.
In accordance with Colonial Regulation 155 I
enclose also a list of the present members of Legislative
Council.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
J.H. THOMAS, M.P.
