I have the honour to acknow-
ledge the receipt of your despatch
confidential (3) of the 3rd April
regarding the export of arms and
ammunition from Hong Kong to Macau.
while it appears from the schedule
enclosed therein that this traffic was
not considerable in 1934 and 1935, the
possibility nevertheless exists that the
effect of the stricter control of the
arms traffic through Hong Kong to china
which was established last autumn may be
to divert to Macau that part of the
traffic which those measures were
intended
