letter from this Office of the 23rd July

enclosing a copy of a despatch sent to

the Governor of Hong Kong regarding the

export of arms and ammunition from Hong

Kong to Macau, and to transmit to you, to

be laid before Mr. Secretary Eden, a copy

of the reply which has been received from

the Governor on the subject.

2. Mr. Eden will note from this

despatch the Governor's view as to the

result likely to ensue from restricting

the export from Hong Kong of war material,

in the case of Macao,

to the Portuguese

Colonial Government itself or its

accredited representatives.
