if Government assumes direct responsibility for publication. If publication were placed with a publishing firm on the usual terms as to royalties, Government's financial responsibility would be limited to a nominal deposit. It is considered that the retail price for the book should be not more than fifteen shillings, and Government would recoup itself partially or wholly from sales or royalties. It is realized that several years' work is involved, but it is hoped that the work will be completed and the book ready for publication at or shortly before the Centenary of the Colony.
