STAFF.
Captain P.S.M. Wilkinson has continued as Adjutant during
year under review and has throughout proved his value to the
Corps as a highly efficient Officer. When he vacates his appointment
in the Autumn he will certainly leave the Corps in a better and
more efficient state of organization. He has given special attention
to prepare the Corps for mobilization. His advice and experience
has been of great assistance to me.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster H. Westlake, D.C.M., returned
from leave on 1st November 1924 and has managed his department well.
I am glad that his period of service has been extended for two
years as from November 1935. During his absence on leave his duties
were very satisfactorily carried out by Sergeant J.W.T. Fritchard,
1st Battalion, The South Wales Borderers
The time has now come, owing to the many and varied Arms
carried by the Corps, for the appointment of a full time European
Armourer Staff Sergeant. There is also the need for a full time
Orderly Room Sergeant. For a commencement these two appointments
might be carried on by one Staff Sergeant. I am sure the Corps
would benefit in efficiency and the Government property be better
cared for by such an appointment.
NEW HEADQUARTERS.
I desire to bring forward the urgent necessity that these
should be undertaken as soon as possible we are far too cramped
in our present Headquarters, further I am sure that the popularity
and efficiency of the Corps will greatly increase under improved
surroundings,
EFFICIENCY DECORATIONS AND MEDALS.
It is regrettable that I have again to refer to the delay
in promulgating the Regulations for the issue of these. Members of
the Corps due to receive them have already left the Colony and
others will leave soon. We have already names down waiting to receive
them.
