Motor Machine Gun Section.

The now B.S.A. Combinations were taken on the strength during
the year and one Combination and three Solos have been ordered. The
necessary personnel to maintain these machines is available.

three Solo Machines, Nine Combinat ions
RIFLE & REVOLVER TRAINING. This has been regularly carried
VICKERS MACHINE GUN. Training in this weapon has been
regularly carried out and all second year men have passed the
necessary tests. During Camp the Section took part in an Indirect
Shoot.
MOBILITY. Exercises demonstrating the mobility of the Section
has been regularly carried out on the Island and Mainland.
ESCORTS. The Section has provided Escorts on two occasions to
His Excellency the Governor.
TACTICAL EXERCISES. Two Sections (4 guns) and personnel were
allocated to the Scottish Company Sector Island Defence Scheme in
addition to which one Section (2 guns, 3 combinations) were attached
to Sector Headquarters as mobile reserve plus two Solos D.R.S. in
the recent night operations.
Map Reading and Field Message Writing training has been held
regularly, and several reconnaisance runs, both on the Island and
the New Territories have been regularly carried out.
STRENGTH. Numbers have been increased during the year and all
ranks are trained to a high state of efficiency.
