of the Battery is in a large measure the result of the assistance

given by the Officers and N.C.0's of the 20th Battery, R.A.

In January 1935 owing to the transfer of Captain L.F.

Nicholson to the Flying Arm the Command of the Battery was take n

over by Captain T. Addis Martin who formerly commanded some years

ago.

As regards recruiting it is gratifying to see that

recruits have been forthcoming and, but for several resignations

due chiefly to transfers to other Ports, an increase in numbers

would have resulted; as it is, numbers still remain around thirty.

The present personnel of the unit display considerable

keenness and although the present armament was taken over as

recently as January 1934 as many as four N.C.O's have attended

14-day courses at Yaverland, Isle of Wight.

CORPS ENGINEERS.

D. L. Training has been carried out on one night a month

throughout the year and all men have qualified on the light and

Week-end training was held at Belcher's Fort (the Company's

War-Station) in November and March: the Company manned the lights

during the Combined Operations.

A combined week-end Camp with the Battery was held in March

at Pak Sha Wan when day and night D. L. Training and maintenance

were carried out.
