ORGANIZATION
The organization, detailed in last year's report, has now
been in operation for a sufficient time to prove its value.
ESTABLISHMENT.
Three new established units and one affiliated unit have
been formed during the year, viz.
(a) Air Arm
(b) Machine Gun Battalion, Signal Section (a) Railway Operating Detachment Cadre
(d) Nursing Detachment (affiliated to the Corps
and administered by the Corps).
Each of these units is the subject of a detailed report.
The A.A.L.A. Company and Lights Cadre still remain in the
strength return but are non-operative. Members have been invited to
Join another unit and, failing this, it is considered politic to
retain their names on the Corps roll for employment on mobilization
rather than lose touch with them. It is anticipated that they will be
merged into the Reserve which is in process of re-organization.
The continuance of re-organization and the establishment of
new units when others are be low strength may be the subject of comment
but no new step is taken without careful consideration and previous
conference with Command Headquarters.
A "Junior Wing" was started in the Summer last year to
train young and efficient volunteers with a view to their being
appointed later to Commissioned and Non-commissioned rank. Two such Courses eawees have been held and have produced good results.
The Corps participated in the Searchlight Tattoo in
November supplying Infantry, Armoured Cars and Motor Machine Guns in
the Modern Warfare item.
All units took part in the Combined Operations in March
and occupied their war-stations from dusk to one hour after daylight.
The attendance was satisfactory and shows an increase on that of last
year; it is anticipated that this improvement will be maintained.
