TIGRATION TO HONG-KONG

I have been asked by the Comité Central d'Assistance aux Emigrants Juifs if any facilities can be granted for the entry of Jewish refugees to Hong-Kong.

The secretary of the Comité has shown me letters from his correspondents in Harbin which seem to indicate

that there are vacancies for certain specialists in Bong- Kong.

On the other hand, I have seen a letter from the Jewish Recreation Club of Hong-Yong which appears to dis- courage any form of immigration to Hong-Kong at the present moment owing to the unemployment situation there.

I have informed the secretary that there is no question of my granting visas for Hong-Kong to any person of the refugee class who is not in possession of a valid contract of employment.

I have offered, however, to

ask you for further instructions on the subject.
