YOUR PETITIONER THEREFORE HUMBLY PRAYS that you may pleased :-

(1) To refer to the Ministry of Transport matters of transportation principle arising out of this Memorial for report regarding the treatment of which your Petitioner (as providers of efficient public passenger transport ser- vices within the Colony for the past 31 years) complains since the year 1928; and, in particular, with regard to the recent injury which your Petitioner complains of having suffered vis-à-vis the present Motor-Bus licensee by the Hong Kong Government's action in permitting reduction of bus fares on routes competing with your Petitioner to a level equal to the lowest tram fare.
(2) To direct that the Hong Kong Government revert to its former policy by taking action by legislation if necessary-requiring motor bus fares on competitive routes to be not lower than the present first class tram fare of your Petitioner.
(3) To direct that, in future-when question of concessions or of proposed extended facilities to the Motor-Bus licensee, as to routes, increased ser- vices or departures from the scale of fares specifically named in Schedule "B" of Notification No. S. 319 of 2nd September, 1932, be under con- sideration by the Hong Kong Government-full and fair opportunity be given your Petitioner of submitting its representations.
and having regard to the materially altered circumstances surrounding the question of road passenger transportation in Hong Kong and the changed conditions under which your Petitioner operates its tramway services such as were never contemplated at the time of enactment of the Tramway Ordinance No. 10 of 1902 you may be pleased to review the obligations falling upon your Petitioner in the terms of that Ordinance and
(4) To direct that the said Tramway Ordinance No. 10 of 1902 be so modified in respect of Section No. 47 thereof as to relieve your Petitioner of the heavy increase in the rate of its future Royalty obligation.
