RULES
AND REGULATIONS.
Opening and Closing Date.

The British Empire and China Trade Fair (hereinafter called the Trade Fair) will be opened on Monday, December 2nd, 1935, and closed on Saturday, December 28th, 1935. The price of admission will be 30 cents, including

Application Forms.
2. Application Forms must contain full particulars and purpose of proposed Exhibit, and must be sent in to the Trade Fair Manager, St. George's Building, Hongkong.
Forfeiture of Space, etc.
3. Space allotted and not adequately or satisfactorily occupied by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20th, 1935, or in respect of which any portion of the charges for space have not been paid when due, may be filled up by the Organizers, The Advertising and Publicity Bureau, Ltd. (hereinafter called the Organizers), and any payment already made in respect thereof will be forfeited, and the balance will be payable as if the space had been occupied throughout the period of the Trade Fair.
Design of Stands.
4. It is the intention of the Organizers so to arrange the design of stands that the Trade Fair shall in itself form complete scheme whilst, so far as practicable within this limitation giving expression to the characteristics of individual Exhibits. In order to attain this object the design of the stands has been prepared by the Organizers, and all stands will be erected by their contractors, Where the Organizers agree to the incorporation of individual requirements the additional cost of such alterations, decorations, etc. shall be borne by the Exhibitor and shall be carried out by the Organizers* contractors. Full details of Exhibitors' individual requirements of this nature must be lodged with the Organizers not later than Monday, July 22nd, 1935, failing which the stand as provided by the Organizers must be utilised. Organizers reserve the right to vary or change the design of any stand or to combine two or more stands in any manner and in exceptional circumstances to permit an Exhibitor to construct his own stand.
Execution of Work.

5. The draping
or other decoration of stands and the colour of stands is subject to the approval of the Organizers, and such work shall not commence until the written consent of the Organizers Architect has been received. All such decorations, etc. shall be executed under the general direction of the Organizers' Architect and Engineer, whose representatives shall be entitled to inspect works at all reasonable times. Exhibitors shall carry out their requirements. The Organizers may cause to be removed or altered, at the expense of the Exhibitor, anything to which they may object. Exhibitors work shall not interfere with or prejudically affect other works and property, and the Organizers' decision as to this shall be final and their requirements to abate such interference shall be carried out immediately. An Allotment of space entails the use of the type of stand provided, and is without prejudice to the Organizers' right to instal stands of greater or lesser height in the immediate vicinity or elsewhere. Exhibitors must not obstruct the gangways or encroach thereon or in any way interfere with other Exhibitors or Contractors.
It is imperative that the names of Contractors with whom it is proposed to place orders for work of description be first submitted to and approved by the Organizers before the contract is actually entered into.

6. Exhibitors, their representatives, staff, contractors, etc, must in all respects comply with the laws of the Colony of Hongkong, and all contracts placed by Exhibitors for which of any description shall provide that all plans and specifications shall be in accordance with such laws, rules and regulations.
Regulations as to Gangways & Signs.
7. No illuminated or flashing sign shall be fitted or used until approved in writing by the Trade Fair Manager,
to whom a full description thereof must be submitted.
Stands or Exhibits must not encroach on the gangways nor shall any article be placed outside the confines of the Exhibitors' allotted space during the time the public are admitted to the building. Brackets carrying signs, lights, etc. must not overhang the gangways.
Electricity Supply for Light and Power.
8. Full details of Exhibitors' requirements of electric light or power must be lodged with the Organizers not later than October 15, 1935. failing which the stand will be lighted as directed by the Organizers at the Exhibitor's expense, All lighting schemes and requirements of Power must receive the Organizers approval in writing. The work must be carried out by contractors registered with the China Light & Power Co., Ltd. at the expense of the Exhibitor, and in accordance with the requirements of the China Light & Power Co., Ltd. Exhibitors shall not, by reason of their having secured Organizers' approval of their proposed scheme, be released from the obligation to comply with such requirements.
All current, whether for light or power, consumed on the premises must be obtained from the mains of the
China Light & Power Co., Ltd.
The supply of current available for lighting is single phase, alternating current at 200 volts, 60 cycles. The supply is given in the form of a 3-phase, 4-wire supply, and all lighting will have to be balanced between the 3-phases and neutral.
The supply of power for motors over and above 2 h.p. will be given at 346 volts, 3-phase, 60 cycles; for motors under 2 h.p., if necessary, the supply can be given in the form of a single phase, 200 volts, 60 cycle supply.
All supplies of electricity will be charged by meter. Separate meters for cach type of current will be supplied, fixed at one central point and afterwards removed by the China Light & Power Co., Ltd.
It will be the practice of the Trade Fair staff to switch the current off from the mains each evening at the closing hour, but it will often be necessary to switch on the current for various purposes at night, early in the morning or during week-ends. Exhibitors shall therefore switch off all the current on their respective stands each evening at closing time to prevent wastage of light and power during their absence, otherwise their meters will register this waste, and the current consumed will be registered against the Exhibitor,
