this report is awaiting the return of Mr. Carrie who is at present attending the Oriental Tourist Conference in Japan. I should, however, be glad to receive your authority to make a grant, with the consent of Legislative Council, to the proposed Hong Kong Travel Association up to a sum of $25,000.00 per annum, for the next three years, as recommended in paragraph 4 of the Committee's report, should it be decided to set up such an association.

The licensing hours applicable to hotels and restaurants (paragraph 11 of Chapter XIII of the Commission's Report) have also been relaxed. A copy of the Government Enclo.No. 5. Notification effecting this is enclosed.
