Dear Sir John Brenan,
Following my conversation with you on the 23rd
October regarding the applications of Yee Tsoong Tobacco Distributors Limited and Yee Tsoong Tobacco Company Limited to the Minister for a licence exempting them from using the prefix prescribed by Section 93 (2) of the Companies Ordinance 1932, I consulted a number of representative people on the question of obtaining an amendment of the Ordinance as you will
see from the enclosed copy of a letter which I have written to General Macnaghten. This letter has been circulated to the
members of the Joint Committee of the British Chamber of
Commerce.
The matter will be considered at the next meeting
and I hope it will be taken up by the Chamber.
In the meantime would you please allow the above
mentioned applications to remain in abeyance.
Yours sincerely,
(sd.)
Duncan M.Oppenheim.
