(d) That the conditions under which the service has

hitherto been operated require too high a speed of docking,

with the consequence that both the fendering and main

structure at Jubilee Street must occasionally suffer damage

from heavy collisions;

(e) That the remedial measures now being taken at the

Jubilee Street landing should, when carried to completion,

obviate the necessity for heavy renewals in the main

structure and prevent further movement in the gantry

foundations;

(f) That appreciable renewal and maintenance expenditure

on the fendering at both landings must be apprehended so

long as the present rapid conditions of docking obtain.

I am, Sir,

Your obedient servant,

(Sd.) A.T. COODE.
