With reference to Your Excellency's
despatch No.333 (25/68A/1935) of the
23rd February last and to previous correspondence
on the subject of the "Tugchow" piracy, I have
tɔ inform you that the question of reinforcing
the measures at present taken to combat piracy
off the China coast forasd the subject of a
recent conference held at the Adairalty
which the departsents primarily concer.ed were
represented.
2. Asong the questions discussed at the
conference was a proposal for the grant of
certificatea to vessels which are adequately
protected against piracy. This proposal fornei
one of the recommendations for improving anti-
piracy measures contained in Aduiral ɛir P.
preyer's report to the Adairalty (No.494-1034)
