With reference to your despatch No.451 of
the 6th December, 1934, regarding the visit to Hong Kong of
Mr. E. Burney, M.C., I have the honour to inform you that
Mr. Burney left the Colony by s.s. "Rajputana" on the 23rd
February, 1935. I shall await with interest the receipt
of his report.
2.
In the course of his enquiry Mr. Burney paid
short visits to Canton and Shanghai, in order to obtain
first-hand information regarding the educational systems
of those municipalities.
3.
I shall be glad if the thanks of this Govern-
ment may be conveyed to the Board of Education for the loan
of the services of this able officer. PRAIN.
