With reference to my despatch No.118 of
the 27th February, 1935, regarding the visit to Hong Kong
of Mr. E. Burney, M.C., I have the honour to inform you
that sums totalling H.K.$330 were advanced to Mr. Burney
for his personal expenses while in the Colony.
2.
Mr. Burney undertook to repay these advances
on his return to London or to agree to their deduction from
the honorarium to be paid to him on the conclusion of his
mission.
3.
I shall be glad if the Crown Agents for the
Colonies may be instructed to adjust this payment at the
rate of exchange of the day.
