No. 99.
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG,
18th February, 1935.
Sir,
40071 CR
No. 38.
With reference to your despatch No.51 dated 16th February, 1932, regarding the appointment
of Miss M.L.J. Pearce as a Nursing Sister in Hong Kong,
I have the honour to inform you that Miss Pearce's
agreement expires on 19th April, 1935, and that it is
not proposed to renew it.
I would therefore request that arrange- ments may be made for recruitment, on the usual terms
and conditions, of a successor to arrive in the Colony
on or about 20th July, when Miss Pearce's leave, earned
in respect of her three years' service, expires.
2.
In this connection I shall be glad if
the Crown Agents for the Colonies may be instructed to
substitute in clause 3(2) of the Schedule to the Agree-
ment the words "the date on which she takes up her
appointment in the Colony" for the words "the date from
which......
.....funds of the Colony" in this and
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
SIR P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER, G.B.E., M.C., M.P.,
