I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of your confidential telegram No.24 of 16th
February, 1935, regarding foreign warships visiting Hong
Kong and to enclose for your information a copy of my
secret letter of 28th December, 1934, to which the letter
from the Naval Commander-in-Chief, China, is the reply,
and of my secret letter of 26th January, 1935. I note
your instructions that no action in these matters is to
be taken without prior consultation with yourself.
