With reference to your despatch No. 1009

(7 6915/15/10) of November 23rd, on the subject

of the procedures adopted by liis Dajesty's Government in the United Kingdom and the United States Government respectively regarding the export of arms to China, I have the honour to transmit herewith copies of a nose dated January 10th which I have received from the Secretary of State in answer to a note based u on that despatch. 2.

. Hull invited me to solid someone down to receive this note, in order that some additional explanations might be furnished orally.
