not record the transactions through the

Investment Adjustment Account, but credited the

appreciation direct to Revenue, and in consequence

the Investment Adjustment Account does not appear

in the Annual Abstract Account for the year 1933.

5. With reference to paragraph 6 of my

report on the Accounts for the year 1932, on the

subject of Departmental Banking Accounts and the

question of charges made but not disbursed within

the year by the Head Office of the Treasury I

attach a copy of paragraphs 21 to 26 of the

Auditor's report on the Accounts for the year

1933 relating to this matter.

6. With reference to the liability

"Exchange Adjustment $136,808.00" as recorded in

the Statement of Assets and Liabilities at the

31st of December, 1933, the Auditor reports that

this amount is incorrect in so far that provision

has been made in excess of requirements, when

considering the purpose of this account as

explained in paragraph 3 of the Secretary of State's

Despatch No.431 of the 26th of November, 1925.
